The ILSO Music Committee is calling for all members throughout the state to consider submitting performances to be used during the virtual convention. In addition to the Virtual Choir and Handbell Ensemble, we have room to play numbers for prelude and postlude, in transition times, and other breaks or features throughout the 3-day convention.
Members will need to record a video of their performance, upload their video to YouTube, and send the link to ILSO Music Chair, Dr. Juliet Minard, jminard.music@gmail.com. Please check out the link below for step-by-step instructions on how to record a video and upload it to Youtube.
Affinity Groups
“What is the difference between DKG International Visionary Network groups and ILSO Affinity Groups?”
· The DKG International Visionary Network addresses a variety of interests in a set number of sessions. Aimed at establishing a long-term, organized system for creating, implementing, and nurturing affinity groups throughout the entire Society, these classes range from learning a language to Zentangle® to a support network for breast cancer. Register at dkg.org.
· An affinity group consists of gatherings of individuals who share a common focus upon a specific professional or personal topic. Designed to provide support, strengthen connections, and promote growth among their members, schedules are fluid, (in ILSO) based upon the needs and calendars of the group members.
The DKG ILSO Cancer Affinity Group provides a safe space and community of support for those experiencing cancer, cancer survivors, or caring for someone with cancer. Contact Christine Hobbs for more information and the next meeting date. chobbs@eawr.org
The DKG ILSO Caregivers Affinity Group provides a community of support from others going through similar situations or who have experienced being a caregiver. Is there an elected Senator or Representative, federal or state, that has helped advance education and/or women's rights that your chapter feels should be acknowledged for her/his work?
Then you should fill out a Certificate of Appreciation, have your chapter approve this recommendation and send it to Fran Plude, ILSO Legislative Chair. This form is due to Fran on or before January 10th.
Is there a local elected community leader, school board member, city mayor, the Governor, Lt. Governor, Sec.of State Treasurer, etc. who has advanced education and/or women's rights that your chapter feels should be recognized for her/his work?
Then you should fill out a Certificate of Commendation for that person. Have your chapter approve this recommendation and then send it to Fran Plude, ILSO Legislative Chair. This form is due to Fran on or before January 10th.
